The College of Engineering at Kansas State University invites applications for the position of Head of the Department of Civil Engineering. The College seeks an individual with the innovative leadership skills needed to strengthen successful instructional, research, and outreach programs in the department.
The department offers an ABET accredited BS degree, as well as MS and PhD programs, and participates in the university’s off-campus master’s programs. Established programs of study and research include environmental, geotechnical, structural, transportation/materials, and water resources. The department has 16 faculty members and approximately 370 undergraduate and graduate students.
The College of Engineering is the largest and most comprehensive engineering college in Kansas, and is undergoing rapid expansion by adding 35 additional faculty over a five-year period. The College of Engineering is located on the main campus in Manhattan, KS, a family-friendly and safe community of 50,000. Kansas State University, with its enrollment of approximately 25,000 students, has declared its goal to be a top-50 public research university by 2025.

Registration as a professional engineer or other professional licensure

The Architectural Engineering and Construction Science department supports two accredited degree programs and numerous opportunities for extracurricular activities related to each program.
