The Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University (ASU) and the School of Biological and Health Systems Engineering (SBHSE) seek applicants for a tenure-track/tenured faculty position in Magnetic Resonance Based Neuroimaging to grow our efforts in this important thrust area within Biomedical Imaging. Areas of interest include but are not limited to:
Functional MR neuroimaging of healthy or diseased brain;
Neuropathology-targeted, MRI-based, molecular imaging probe development; and
Preclinical and/or translational MRI technique development directed toward neuro-oncology or neuro-degenerative pathology.
The Biomedical Imaging group within the Fulton Schools of Engineering includes faculty working on a variety of topics including magnetic resonance imaging contrast agent/technique development, preclinical and translational cancer imaging, electrical property-based imaging, MRI pulse sequence design and reconstruction methods, and developing new imaging techniques. Complementary efforts include research focused on neurostimulation, signal and image processing and data visualization. The imaging group has partnerships with world-class clinicians, basic scientists, and engineers in the Phoenix area. They collaborate closely with and have access to imaging facilities in local medical centers across Phoenix, the Magnetic Resonance Research Center at ASU (http://nmr.asu.edu/), the Barrow-ASU Center for Preclinical Imaging (https://www.barrowneuro.org/research/active-research-studies/barrow-asu-center-for-preclinical-imaging/) and the Keller Center (https://www.barrowneuro.org/research/research-programs/imaging/pipe-laboratory/) for Imaging Innovation at Barrow Neurological Institute, Phoenix (https://www.barrowneuro.org/).
Appointments will be at the assistant, associate or full professor rank, commensurate with the candidate’s experience and accomplishments, beginning August 2018. Although appointments may be in any of Fulton Engineering’s five schools, the School of Biological and Health Systems Engineering is currently most involved in biomedical imaging.
Faculty members are expected to develop an internationally recognized and externally funded research program, develop and teach graduate and undergraduate courses (including imaging-based undergraduate laboratory courses), advise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students and undertake service activities.
A Ph.D. in biomedical engineering or other related fields relevant to biomedical imaging; and
Evidence of excellence in research and teaching, as appropriate to the candidate’s rank
Demonstrated commitment to a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to research and teaching
