The position entails serving as a Southern California Regional Marketing Manager to direct and lead KEH’s marketing and business development program in Southern California. Responsibilities include:
Develop, execute and oversee firm-wide business development short and long term strategy in collaboration with Management Team and input from marketing team.
Drive business development program and lead team to meet established client and business development goals – firm wide and per client.
Provide leadership and management for key pursuits including pre-positioning, strategy, capture/action plans, storyboarding, message and key differentiator development.
Manage proposal development and interview preparation including storyboarding, message and thesis statement development, graphics and presentation slide development, team coaching and rehearsals and Q&A preparation. Direct marketing staff and solicit administrative staff support in proposal efforts.
Gather and maintain current information on clients, prospects, competitors, market opportunities and service strategies including existing Client Relations Manager (CRM).
Track and forecast client pursuit prospects and opportunities; lead monthly business development meetings.
Direct development and production of information, materials and tools for marketing and client development purposes, including website, client advisories, marketing materials, visual storytelling, etc.
Facilitate involvement of KEH in community, professional, industry and other organizations that enhance the visibility of the firm; represent KEH directly in community and professional industry organizations.
Work closely with Accounting Manager to plan, budget for and prioritize activities to ensure cost-effective and efficient support for firm marketing and client development efforts; including close track of firm’s Soft Backlog.
Provide mentoring and coaching to staff.

BA degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Media Relations or comparable degree.
7+ years’ experience in comparable business development role within the AEC Industry.
Experience in the water/wastewater/recycled water industry.
Client focused, must be able to work on self-initiated basis and in a team environment.
Proven ability as a professional services marketing manager with a track record of demonstrated success.
Strong writing skills, as demonstrated by acceptable writing samples, including external communications, proposals or custom marketing materials.
Initiative to bring ideas and processes to the firm to increase marketing, business development and client relation effectiveness.
Outstanding presentation and communication skills, both written and oral.
Strong project management skills. Manage multiple projects simultaneously and have a focus on execution. Delegate to marketing and administration staff and coordinate with Management Team effectively.
Substantive experience in applying technology to marketing and internal information sharing (e.g., websites, social media and client relationship management databases).
Demonstrable experience with Adobe InDesign, SEO and CRM software.
