The Position MAG is seeking a bright, driven, team-oriented professional to support its efforts in the Transportation Division. MAG is a vibrant, dynamic work environment with a variety of activities. Examples of responsibilities for this position include analysis and management of travel and traffic data sets; software development; transportation models application and maintenance; preparation of technical reports and project management. Proficiency with MS Office products is required. Experience with statistical software such as R, STATA, MATLAB, or other comparable statistical software and a background in applied statistics is required. These activities are undertaken with an emphasis on high quality work, close internal communication, and providing a benefit to MAG member agencies and partners.
The Candidate The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge and skills: Knowledge of ArcGIS and/or strong programming skills using Java, C Sharp or Python is a plus. Experience with TransCAD modeling software is desirable. Ability to work productively and responsively as a team member in a fast-paced environment with numerous data and transportation modeling projects and requests is essential. Interest in one or more of the following fields is encouraged: data analytics, data visualization, software development, transportation modeling and transportation data management and collection.
Experience and Education Requires a B.S. or higher degree in transportation planning, engineering, computer science, mathematics or related field. Strong oral and written communication skills are necessary. Salary range depends on experience.
