Northwest UAV is currently accepting applications for a CMM Programmer/Quality Inspector. Qualified applicants should have experience in the field of CMM Programming (preferably on Zeiss equipment) and inspection, familiarization with manufacturing and Quality processes. Candidate will be expert in GD&T, capable of reading manufacturing prints/drawings with the ability to provide technical guidance to manufacturing operations in support of product quality. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and good communication skills. Preference will be given to applicants with ISO/AS9100 training.
Specific responsibilities include:
Perform measurement inspections of parts with metrology equipment
Solves complex programming challenges with Coordinated Machine Measurement (CMM)
Run and program CMM inspection equipment
Read and interpret drawings and blueprints with GD&T dimensioning and specifications
Assist Engineers and Inspectors in developing or modifying inspection procedures as needed
Perform all tasks and procedures in a regulated environment with minimal supervision
Communicates effectively amongst a cross-functional team of Inspectors, Operators, Engineers and Technicians
Multi-tasks effectively and performs other essential tasks and responsibilities as assigned
Associates degree required, or equivalent experience, Bachelor’s degree preferred. Equivalent experience may be substituted for education upon passing competency testing.
Proficiency with GD&T
Experience with the following:
First article and production inspection
Spatial intelligence (3D visualization)
Articulating probe systems
DCC and manual CMM operation
Part setup and documentation using modular fixturing systems
Must have ability to serve as assistant to managers, analyze data, set up key operations, train, lead, and make recommendations for new procedures
Must be able to work in a variety of positions i.e. standing, sitting, bending, and moving between workstations
Must have good hand/eye coordination
Willing and able to work overtime as necessary to meet deadlines and complete special projects
Must be able to crouch, bend, reach, lift 30 lbs, and work with hand tools.
Must be willing to submit to a background check.
Experience with internal combustion engines a plus.
