A national claims and forensic engineering services company is opening a NEW OFFICE in Miami Metro, and seeks a Civil Engineer / Structural Engineering Generalist with business development experience and a Florida PE license.
This is NOT an internship.
This is a permanent position with six-figure compensation and benefits package for the right candidate.
The Civil Engineering Generalist will help launch a new office that will perform surety bond, property & casualty, and construction defect insurance claims investigations for insurance carrier clients. While a percentage of claims investigation work will relate to structural engineering, proficiency in other civil engineering branches such as soils, drainage, as well as significant experience in vertical construction is highly desired.
Civil Engineer will oversee forensic analysis to clients on an array of engineering projects.
Perform field inspections of residential, commercial and/or industrial structures for code compliance and assessment of cause and origin of damages.
Review all pertinent construction documentation per client’s requests and provide honest and unbiased analysis and consultation on various property failures.
Schedule onsite inspections with property owners to conduct physical inspections and develop written reports of observations and findings.
Provide appraisals on structures and equipment on an as-needed basis.
Develop technical presentations for use in marketing and continuing education of clients.
Support Regional Engineering Manager and other field personnel with peer review of work prior to delivery to clients.
Travel to perform projects within the standard regional boundaries as needed.
Provide expert testimony and/or depositions as needed for assigned projects.
New Business Development:
Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business.
Cold call as appropriate within assigned geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities. Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network.
Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organization.
Research and build relationships with new clients.
Set up meetings between client decision makers and company’s practice leaders/Principals.
Plan and work to develop proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.
Participate in pricing the solution/service.
MUST HAVE Active Professional Engineering (PE) license in Texas REQUIRED.
BA/ BS degree in Civil or Structural from an accredited university.
MUST HAVE 7+ years experience engineering and investigation experience.
Strong project management, data interpretation, and technical writing skills.
