An award-winning Geotechnical & Enviro Engineering firm is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Department Manager for its TAMPA, FL office.
**This is NOT an internship
This is a permanent position with six-figure ++ salary. Relocation within FL will be paid.
The Geotechnical Engineer Department Manager is responsible for managing the technical and financial aspects of staff assigned projects as well as completing individual projects - primarily for DOT clients. The Geotechnical Manager needs to be able to grow the Geotechnical Engineering Department in the Tampa Bay area through marketing and business development. The Geotechnical Engineer Manger coordinates drilling, subcontractor tasks, evaluates data and compiles written reports for submittal to clients. The person needs to be reliable (responsibilities, tardiness, etc.) and have a good work ethic.
Manages geotechnical projects, consults with DOT client regarding issues, coordinates internally and with client, prepares proposals and Request for Proposals as needed, and writes reports.
Review and seal reports (P.E. License Required)
Mange multiple projects - primarily DOT - and assumes responsibility for project execution within budget and on time. In addition, marketing the department and growing business line.
Prepares cost estimates, proposals and invoices
Meets project budgets and schedules
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in engineering - prefer Geotechnical emphasis.
Ability to supervise the work of 1-12 individuals
Minimum 7+ years’ experience in Geotechnical Engineering.
MUST HAVE Professional Engineer (P.E.) License - required.
