The position supervises the activities of hourly production associates to ensure adequate, efficient production levels while maintaining established quality levels, scheduled ship dates and safety. The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical development of the associates, the manufacturing processes and product development.
The essential functions include:
Interviewing, hiring, promoting, training, evaluating and disciplining subordinates in accordance with established rules and regulations.
Supervising hourly associates in assigned area to ensure adherence to established production standards at an efficient cost while maintaining established quality levels and scheduled ship dates.
Continually monitoring plant conditions and associate actions for compliance to established safety regulations and taking immediate corrective action when necessary. Investigates accidents and prepares necessary reports.
Maintaining records and submitting reports relating to staffing, attendance, material usage, and inventories, quality, schedules and safety.
Executing daily business plan and reacting to changing conditions. Recommending and implementing corrective action in problem areas.
Maintaining quality standards of produc6ts and ensuring a good system of controls to identify and reduce scrap and repair levels.
Conducting required shift meetings on a monthly basis, issuing minutes and following up on action items.
Participating in the development and achievement of cost improvements.
Determining the expense and capital needs associated with operations maintenance and technology improvement. Participating in the acquisition of such items.
Developing new products and process enhancements.
Maintaining a working knowledge of equipment and processes while keeping current on technological advances in areas of responsibility.
Overseeing routine preventive maintenance and requesting repairs as required to ensure equipment is maintained in a proper manner.
Maintaining good housekeeping, safety, and industrial hygiene practices.
Good working knowledge of the plastics industry and processing techniques.
Experienced in general manufacturing production methods, quality assurance techniques, and general safety programs.
Two years of experience at the supervisory level.
Prior experience with 5S programs is preferred.
