The Broward County Board of County Commissioners - Public Works Department, Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of: Construction Project Management Supervisor - Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division for the County's bridge inventory which consists of more than 85 fixed and three bascule bridges.
The ideal candidate will possess broad, high-level, structural engineer/bridge engineer experience in the design, construction and maintenance of fixed and bascule bridges; experience in managing consultant design contracts, experience in managing new/rehab bridge construction projects, or experience in project administration of bridge construction, engineering, and inspection contracts. Must be able to work and communicate effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams; direct contractors and in-house labor in the field; have strong attention to detail, have the aptitude to work using his or her own initiative (with limited supervision). Possession and maintenance of a valid Class E Florida Driver's License is required for the duration of this appointment.
Duties include, but are not limited to: establishing project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards; reviewing and negotiating contracts, contributing technical direction by determining project scope, plans, and estimates; leading project teams (including contractors and sub-contractors), and coordinating all project resources; assembling key personnel for projects; monitoring/controlling construction progress to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget; and overseeing the operations and staffing of bascule bridges to ensure strict adherence to federal, state and local regulations. Performs related work as assigned.
