A rapidly growing design-build geotechnical / geohazard mitigation contracting firm, seeks a remoteGeotechnical Engineer.
**This is NOT an internship.
This is a remote work-from-home position to reside anywhere Missouri.
This is a permanent position with outstanding compensation & benefits package.
The Geotechnical Engineer will handle primarily public sector & transportation/DOT projects involving, soil erosion control, rock fall mitigation geohazard mitigation, rockslide remediation and other geotechnical challenges/ geohazards.
Confers with management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations.
Troubleshoot and rectify operational problems that occur.
Communicate both written and verbally with the clients regarding design changes and approvals.
Communication with other departments regarding design, design changes, and effective processes.
Perform rock slope investigation through high rope access and rappelling.
Provide project management and bid preparation.
Working directly with the project development engineers, develop economical designs and solutions for difficult and challenging slope stability issues.
Critically review specifications and plans and develop project estimates.
Perform rockfall modeling, mitigation and field implementation.
Must have current PE license
BS degree in Civil Engineering (Masters in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering preferred).
MUST HAVE 7 + years experience in Geotechnical Engineering experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of geotechnical engineering software = AutoCAD. Experience in Rocscience 6.0 preferred.
Advanced Math skills required.
Previous experience in the geotechnical construction industry, public sector transportation maintenance preferred.
