We are seeking a candidate within the pulp & paper industry who is ready to take on a technical sales role as an Account Manager for GL&V in the southern region. The ideal candidate will be a go getter with at least three to five years of industry experience.
As an Account Manager you will be responsible for managing and developing existing customer accounts and creating new ones. You will be managing the technical sales functions necessary to promote and support GL&V’s Pulp & Paper process equipment and services in your assigned territory. You will collaborate with the sales team, Product Managers and Business groups to provide a competitive solution which satisfies customer needs and enhances our customer’s satisfaction level.
Develop and implement an annual sales plan for the region, including sales strategy, to maximize return from the region(s) assigned accounts/geographic area and to meet the region’s sales quotas established by the Director of Regional Sales
Manage sales activities throughout the region assigned, by visiting customers to obtain or expand business.
Develop, present, or respond to proposals for specific customer requirements. Lead or assist in buying negotiations
Document account activities, generate reports, and keep records of business transactions with customers.
Prepare monthly progress reports, monthly itinerary (call reports), updates company databases with customer information; and prepares weekly expense reports in a timely manner and submit to Director of Regional Sales.
Prepare for, promote and/or coordinate presentations on products and services directly or with assistance from Product Center resources.
Facilitate the resolution of customer complaints and disputes, including any back charges and performance issues.
Maintains a high profile in the territory/region by participating in local trade organizations and their sponsored events
Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university in Pulp & Paper, Engineering or related technical field preferred.
3-5 years of related pulp and paper industry experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills required for working in field sales environment
A successful track record demonstrating proven problem-solving ability, self-starter, and a hands-on approach.
A solid working knowledge of the Pulp and Paper industry.
A good judge of character and a good listener is required.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral are expected. A “team player” is required.
Must be comfortable interfacing directly with customers on a daily basis in an industrial plant environment.
This position requires at least 70% domestic travel.
Home office based position in the Southern Region- mid Atlantic/Carolina's , must be able to travel from home location to facilities on a regular basis.
