The Manager, A&E is responsible for a variety of engineering tasks including preparation of reports, investigatory studies, design calculations, analysis, layout and design of wireless communication sites to include raw land, collocations, water tanks and roof top sites from initial site audit to project close out. The position requires a role in both internal and client contact activities such as attendance on conference calls, face-to-face meetings, development, and maintenance of trackers and close out and true up of projects
Supervises and manages the day to day activities of the AE staff assigned.
Coordinates with other AE managers and engineering staff in other offices in regards to work load throughout the AE Division via weekly AE conference calls, emails, phone calls, etc.
Reviews accounting provided monthly statements to assist in ensuring completion of projects are on budget.
Executes assignments requiring a basic knowledge of design fundamentals and the application of these fundamentals to the production of design work to be reviewed and approved by a supervisor.
Prepares lease exhibits, zoning drawings, construction drawings, and analysis from designs/analysis prepared by others as well as personally generated designs/analysis for raw land sites, collocations, water tank and rooftop sites.
Receives detailed or rough sketches and reviews with provider of documents
Reviews and applies local, state and federal codes and design parameters.
Understands the Firm’s system of filing and retrieving drawings/data on our own internal VFMS system as well as customer’s systems.
Conforms to QA/QC procedures during performance and completion of design documents.
May perform AutoCAD in preparation of design activities.
Preparation and maintenance of trackers, coordination of sub-consultants and coordination with other internal disciplines and client.
Provides training to staff
Provides yearly and intermediate review of staff
Assists in the preparation of proposals
Performs field measurements at wireless communication sites to ascertain accurate dimensions, collects data and takes photos for use in developing specific design.
Possess the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, employees and outside contacts both verbally and in writing.
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while representing FDH Velocitel.
Adheres to all policies and procedures of FDH Velocitel.
Handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Develop standard details/CAD standards
Occasional overnight travel by land and/or air for site visits
Willingness to work beyond normal working hours and in other positions temporarily.
May be involved with business development activities.
Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline (civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, and environmental) and eight or more years’ experience in wireless telecommunications industry.
Experience with AutoCAD
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft office products, adobe, etc.
