The City of Livermore is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Civil Engineer. The current vacancy exists in the Transportation Section of the Engineering Division of the Community Development Department. Under general supervision, an Assistant Civil Engineer performs a variety of professional field and office engineering work.
Designs signing and striping plans, and transportation related capital projects including signals, lighting, and roadway modifications, and reviews Traffic Impact Analysis for development projects
Prepares and monitors the City’s traffic impact fee program
Prepares and reviews traffic studies and surveys
Prepares plans, specifications, and estimates for capital improvement projects and recommends mitigations or adjustments to the plans
The minimum requirements include 2 years of professional civil or traffic engineering experience and current registration as a professional Civil or Traffic Engineer in the Sate of California. The ideal candidate will also possess experience with reviewing and preparing of Traffic Impact Analysis for development projects and proficient use with computers and specialized software applications including AutoCAD and traffic signal systems.
