BAI is actively seeking a Transportation Engineer/Traffic Engineer for immediate employment in our Columbia, MD Office. The qualified candidate will be able to demonstrate an ability to work independently on smaller projects or portions of larger projects and have experience in engineering design/analysis for transportation improvement projects and have an advanced knowledge of engineering software such as Microstation
The qualified candidate will design and supervise other staff as part of the design team. Projects will include traffic design for MOT, signing, pavement marking, signals and signal timing. Traffic engineering studies and analysis services, perform traffic modeling and simulation studies, signal warrant studies, speed studies and perform signal timing (evaluation and optimization).
Knowledge, Skills and Minimum Requirements
BSCE in Civil Engineering
Minimum of five (5) years experience in traffic engineering
Registered Professional Engineer in Maryland (or ability to apply for reciprocity)
Knowledge of MUTCD and AASHTO Guidelines/Procedures
PTOE or ability to obtain certification
Ability to work using Microstation, AutoCAD and other engineering design software programs
Knowledge and working ability using Synchro/SimTraffic
Experience Supervising Staff
