This job opportunity is a leadership role overseeing a technical staff in the firm’s Water Resources Group. The ability to manage staff and managing project work load to complete assignments on time and on budget is essential to this job.
Candidates must have strong leadership and technical skills to manage and assist staff in a team environment to deliver accurate project deliverables within designated scope, schedule and budget parameters.
Candidates must have the ability to develop project work assignments for staff and manage workloads in anticipation of future work that is back logged.
Candidates must be able to meet with clients, maintain excellent client relations and meet client expectations.
Candidates must have excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Candidates must be able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
Candidate must be able to prepare project scopes of work, cost proposals, schedules and contracts.
Candidate will be responsible for control of work-in-process, ensures accurate client billings and monitors both accounts receivable and collection efforts for projects.
Candidates must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Analyzes reports, maps, drawings and other technical data to plan and design projects.
Directs and supervises other engineers’ activities.
Responsible for contract administration.
Prepares, modifies or directs preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for projects.
Directs technical staff in the preparation of construction drawings.
Visits construction sites to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents.
Must have excellent working knowledge of standard software for hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, including USACE HEC Software (HEC-HMS, HEC-GeoHMS, HEC-RAS, HEC-GeoRAS, HEC-DSS) and ESRI ArcGIS.
Candidates must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Bachelor's degree in water resources engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
Minimum of 10 years of experience
Professional Engineer with current Texas registration
CFM designation preferred
Experience working with HCFCD, USACE, City of Houston and/or TxDOT is preferred
Must have a valid driver’s license
