The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo invites applications for a full-time postdoctoral position in environmental engineering for the 2019-20 academic year. The position is an 80% teaching appointment with a 20% release for efforts in course development, instructional training, and ad hoc department advising needs. The position is for one academic year, renewable based on department needs and success of the candidate. Requirements include a Ph.D. in civil engineering or environmental engineering or a closely-related field and the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in a number of the following areas:
Introduction to environmental engineering (air, water, and solid waste characteristics and management; mass balance/transport), both major and non-major courses.
Introduction to hazardous waste management.
Bioremediation of soil, groundwater, and air streams by in-situ and ex-situ technologies.
Introduction to environmental, health, and safety management.
Industry experience and previous teaching experience are desirable but not required. Please specify area of expertise and teaching experience in cover letter.
