Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions, Inc. (Wood) is seeking a Mid - level Traffic Engineer with minimum six years of experience in traffic engineering and transportation planning. This individual will work closely with our transportation planning and engineering staff in conducting transportation studies, traffic operations analyses including developing signal timing plans, safety analyses, microsimulation modeling and design plans (signing, pavement marking, traffic control, and ITS), specifications and estimates. Additional responsibilities include assisting with proposals, project scoping, creating and maintaining budgets, managing work production, and mentoring others. Some field work is expected, and the candidate should be able to travel to project sites.

Experience working on projects with ADOT, county agencies and / or municipalities in Arizona is preferred.
Skills / Qualifications
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public presentation development and delivery is required
Perform traffic engineering tasks as part of interdisciplinary teams
Follow established quality control procedures
Work effectively with team members as well as independently
Prepare high quality traffic plans, specifications and cost estimates
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
Registration as Professional Engineer (Civil)
Registration as Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) is a plus
Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience
Experience using the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) with ADOT supplements, and Highway Capacity Manual (HCM)
Experience in the use of Sign CADD, Visual, HCS, SIDRA, Synchro / Sim Traffic, HCS, VISSIM and CORSM software is a plus
Experience in MicroStation / InRoads and AutoCAD / Civil 3D software for traffic elements
Roadway or drainage design experience is a plus
Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate effective organizational skills
Ability to apply engineering principles to define and solve problems
Proficiency in MS Office application software Word, Excel and PowerPoint
