Santa Barbara County – a blend of colorful history, distinctive architecture, and legendary Southern California lifestyle. The County is seeking to hire an Assistant Director of General Services to oversee Capital Projects and Facilities Management.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for the planning and implementation of multi-million-dollar capital and maintenance projects for the County of Santa Barbara and managing facility maintenance operations for over 400 County buildings. The Assistant Director manages functions associated with facilities planning and construction, deferred maintenance programs and projects, facility maintenance and operations, and development of related funding strategies and requests.
Employment requirements include:
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in construction management, engineering, architecture, planning, facilities management or a related field; an advanced degree in the above subjects or related fields is preferred.
A minimum of seven (7) years of capital projects, design, planning, project management, and facilities management experience. At least three (3) of those years must have been spent working on public projects in positions of substantial management responsibility.
