Controls Engineer needed for an automation integrator. We build automated conveyor systems, leak test and functional test systems, and assembly cells. Our customers are mostly Tier 1 or Tier 2 suppliers to the major automotive companies
Ideal Candidate will be able to design electrical schematics in AutoCad, EPLAN preferred, for industrial machines. Must have strong PLC/Machine proficiency together with an ability to achieve scheduled budget and quality objective.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Create electrical schematics; identify the specific cables, connectors, fuses, circuit breakers and/or other electrical devices for established project.
Work closely with vendors in identifying appropriate equipment necessary for the project.
Create and document cabinet design layouts, PLC modules, and terminal wiring within each box.
Create and maintain all BOM and ECN’s associated with all electrical designs.
Develops new designs to meet customer specifications.
Supports the development and maintenance of department standards
Provides assistance to other functional organizations (Manufacturing, Assembly, and Customer Service) throughout the life of the project.
Develop specifications for purchased equipment.
Maintains technical competency and works to expand technical skills and knowledge.
Support the start-up of projects on-site.
Work across function lines to support all “Controls” related functions such as logic development, and documentation completion.
Must have demonstrated ability to develop designs from a blank sheet of paper.
A general knowledge of machine tool types, their function is required.
Ability to work to a schedule and budget is required.
A basic foundation in the mathematics and calculations for the design of electrical systems is required.
Must have the ability to design electrical systems for PLC control systems.
Skills must include the design of electrical schematics and application of control system components.
Required Education and Experience:Associate degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering with 1-3 years of experience OR the equivalent 5 or more years of experience in a directly related field considered.
REQUIRED SOFTWARE & OPERATING SYSTEMS:
Proficient user ofAutoCadsoftware library for schematics
EPLAN and Solidworks experience would be preferred
Proficient development onALLEN BRADLEY andSiemens hardware platforms
Knowledge of robotic applications is a bonus
