This position is responsible for all day to day operations for inspection department
Support manufacturing processes for customer prototype and production on new and existing products
Evaluate manufacturing processes with the goal of continuously improving process performance, machine utilization, and reduction in inspector down time.
Implements Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma processes in support of process reliability, and manufacturing cycle time improvement.
Proactively participates with customers and suppliers on the determination of required product specifications.
Provide feedback to inspectors
Demonstrated decision making abilities showing awareness of risk and regulatory requirements.
Confident self-starter supportive of cross-functional team environment, and development of best practices using six-sigma practices
A minimum (3-5) years of Quality experience.
5-years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Reads and interprets blueprints and have firm understanding of GD&T.
Knowledge of cutting tool applications, GD&T, and proficient use of precision measuring gages.
Basic knowledge of CMM and KEYENCE inspection machines.
Needs to be comfortable working with ambiguity, motivated, and able to operate without direction.
Support analysis of defective material and leads in the final disposition of defective material through the material review board process.
Proficient use of semi-complex statistical analysis methods and practices to analyze production data.
Experience with Control Plans and PFMEA
Assist during customer and regulatory audits
Support internal audit program
Maintain inspection departmental KPI metrics
S in an Engineering discipline, preferably Manufacturing Engineering
5 to 10 years experience in quality disciplines or related field
Experience working with Willemin 408 & 508, Bumotec 6-axis, Hardinge Lathes, and Star Swiss Machines
Working knowledge of basic high precision inspection equipment, including bore gages, calipers, height gage and comparator.
Medical device manufacturing experience
Knowledge Quality Management Systems (ISO 13485, MDSAP, MDD/MDR)
Proficient with Microsoft Office. Minitab experience would be a plus.
ASQ CQA or CQE Preferred.
