The City of Brentwood is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, talented, and energetic individual to fill the position of Engineering Manager. Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Public Works/Engineering and the Director of Public Works/City Engineer, this Engineering Manager directs, manages and supervises all the activities and operations of the Capital Improvement Program (CIP). The Engineering Manager is responsible for professional and technical civil engineering staff who work in the design, investigation, inspection and construction of streets, storm drainage facilities, landscape, lighting, sanitary sewer facilities and other utilities. This individual will manage all aspects of CIP process including conceptual plans, budget, CEQA, engineering plans, contract management, construction and final acceptance of CIP projects.
Successful candidates should possess good interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to easily relate and adjust to a variety of situations. Education and Experience Guidelines - Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Education/Training: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or related field.
Experience: Five years of increasingly responsible engineering experience including one year of lead supervisory responsibility.
License or Certificate: Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate driver's license. Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a Professional Civil Engineer or Traffic Engineer in the State of California as required by assigned position.
