Working cooperatively with the National Park Service’s Lake Mead National Recreation Area (LAKE), the Great Basin Institute is recruiting to hire an 1 year Entry Level Engineering Intern. The overarching objective of this position is to assist under close supervision the Maintenance Division in activities to support recreation and visitor facilities at Lake Mead. This AmeriCorps position is open to US Citizens, Nationals, or Permanent Residents age 17 or older Successful applicant must complete a Department of Interior (DOI) Background Investigation (BI) or submit paperwork to NPS human resources indicating an active and fully adjudicated BI has already been completed prior to beginning position. If you already have a fully adjudicated BI, please let us know in your application. |
Additional Salary Information: •Living Allowance $25,800 (equivalent 15$/hour) •Education award $6095.00 (to be applied to Past/Present/or Future Educational Expenses) •Sick Leave, Vacation, and Federal Holidays •Eligibility for Student Loan Forbearance •Eligibility for AmeriCorps Childcare Benefits •Limited Health, Dental and Vision Insurance will be completely paid for at no cost to you by the Great Basin Institute and available starting your first day of service.
