Gannett Fleming is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Transportation Planning - Senior Project Manager for an immediate opportunity in the Southern California, supporting a major transportation agency. The successful candidate will have direct experience in transit or transportation planning, capable of leading planning efforts and providing support on strategy and implementation on large transit capital improvement projects.
Individual will play a key role in developing solutions to policy and physical planning problems on behalf of the client. Oversees the and mentors less experienced staff. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong project management and leadership skills, work well independently and with a team, with superior communication skills, capable of building consensus. This role presents a tremendous career opportunity to play a pivotal role in a high-profile transportation program and contribute to broader efforts to expand Gannett Fleming’s Roadway Corporate Business Group client bases and footprint in the region.
Leads the development of project planning and researches large or complex project elements
Responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating large or complex planning assignments.
Manages business planning activities.
Responsible for the management of large key clients
Provides direction to multiple project managers to follow the scope of work, directing activities related to budgets and schedules.
Bachelor’s degree in transportation planning or related field or equivalent, advanced degree preferred.
American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification is preferred
Active involvement in APA or other professional organizations and registrations is highly desirable-
Minimum fifteen (15) years of progressive experience in transit/transportation planning
Track record of successfully large-scale transit or transportation planning programs
Prior experience functioning as a consultant, supporting a major transit or transportation agency or direct in-house experience leading transportation planning strategy in the public sector
