The City of Austin Transportation Department (ATD) is seeking an innovative engineer to consult and lead one of our engineering operations groups within the Smart Mobility Division. This is an exciting opportunity to plan, organize, and implement/support emerging mobility engineering solutions that enhance mobility for all modes of transportation – motorists, transit, bicyclists, micromobility, and pedestrians. The ideal candidate is proficient in transportation engineering operation and safety, has an in-depth understanding of local and national engineering best practices, is comfortable with flexibility, can work in a bustling work environment, and can effectively communicate with the public and elected officials. This position requires simultaneously managing multiple projects and the ability to shift from one project to another without sacrificing quality. The ideal candidate will be a versatile professional engineer and project manager with the following knowledge and abilities:

Minimum qualifications include graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering, plus eight (8) years related experience acquired either before and/or after licensing as a professional engineer.
