Seeking State of Good Repair Project Management Intern

(Partial remote/onsite)

As an intern at NJ Transit, you will oversee projects from concepts to completion. Our interns step away from the regular sitting at the desk to having the opportunity at hands-on experience with several other business units within NJ Transit. Our ideal candidate is passionate about learning and using creative solutions to make an impact on the lives of others every day.

                                                                       Objective of this role:

• Assists Project Management office (PMO) day to day functionalities such as preparation, implementation of cost/schedule controls processes, procedures and reporting
• Opportunity to learn and implement Project Management Institute (PMI) PMBOK best practices and processes in Project Management arena
• Support PMO team in efforts developing cost estimates, budgeting, forecasting and reporting
• Assist in reviewing, tracking monthly consultant invoices, backup documentation and follow up on payment status
• Support working on ad-hoc reports and assisting other State of Good Repair department including project delivery, real estate as assigned
• Assist in spreadsheet template development, Data collection for State of Good Repair Program (SGRP)
• Assists on document controls & Engineering/shop drawings as needed

Skills and Qualifications:

• Working towards a degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Business Management (Sophomore, Junior, or Graduate Student).
• Engineering education background in any of the above listed disciplines, organizational, self-motivated and willing to learn

• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
• Good oral presentation and communication skills are required

Hourly Rate: $12-$22
