Teel has an opening for an Equipment Engineer which is responsible for designing or procuring equipment, related to new or improved products and processes including secondary operations in a manufacturing environment. Also responsible for addressing issues and complaints, providing corrective measures promptly and efficiently. Furthermore, it is essential to coordinate with team members and other specialists, inspect and test new systems, and adhere to the company's policies and regulations.


Primary Functions and Duties:
 
Design and build new equipment

  • Research, design, draw, standardize, and upgrade equipment.

  • Oversee construction of new equipment.

  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment.

  • Apply patches and upgrade on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.

  • Stay abreast of new technologies that would improve operations and productivity.

  • Translate all of the information related to the machines in order to satisfy all ISO regulations.

Engineer Support Requests

  • Troubleshoot equipment and recommend changes and upgrades to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Design and oversee the upgrade process. 

Project Proposals/Management

  • Determine equipment needs.

  • Estimate project costs and timeframe.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering field with a good understanding of the plastics industry.  Strong technical skills with the ability to communicate effectively and accurately. 

  • Familiarity with #D CAD systems and MS Office, including Project.

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years in a design position related to manufacturing.

  • Strong ability to organize, multitask, think independently and take initiative.

  • Ability to diagnose the root cause of equipment problems and variations and then implement steps toward alleviating those problems or variations. 

  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal, in order to convey ideas and concepts to upper management and to production employees.

  • Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of CAD and Excel or other spreadsheet software.
