ASSOCIATE ENGINEER - CIVIL (Water Quality) (PE Not Required) Salary: $10,290.80 - $13,175.07 Monthly Job Type: Full-Time Job Number: 01246-E Location: CA, CA Department: Treated Water Closing: 3/15/2021 11:59 PM Pacific Description Water Quality Unit (Position Code 0645) Overview:Valley Water is the primary water resource agency for Santa Clara County, supplying safe, clean water, providing flood protection, and serving as an environmental steward for healthy ecosystems. Valley Water serves approximately two million people in 15 cities and manages 10 dams and surface water reservoirs, three water treatment plants, a state-of-the-art water quality laboratory, 400 acres of groundwater recharge ponds, and 275 miles of streams. This Associate Engineer acts as the Water Quality Liaison to one of three of Valley Water's Water Treatment Plants (WTPs) and is part of the Water Quality and Treatment Process Engineering Program. Examples of assignments include developing and implementing water quality programs; leading water quality process engineering investigations and projects at the WTPs; assisting with source water protection programs; and other related assignments to ensure Valley Water's water meets federal and state standards. This position functionally supervises Assistant Engineers. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in civil, chemical, or environmental engineering or possession of a valid California Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate with two (2) years of associated paraprofessional engineering experience. Required License or Certificate Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California driver's license.
