Our QA department focuses on auditing, calibrating, and datamining of process and products. As the QA Engineer, you will interact regularly with suppliers, manufacturing, engineering, and customers to establish, document, evaluate, and disposition product and process performance in accordance with AS9100, internal, and customer requirements.
Principle duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Manage the external auditing process, from preparation and facilitation, to ensuring the response to evaluation findings on time;
Manage the internal auditing processes, including the management of Corrective Actions and Opportunities for Improvement;
Support or lead the calibration process: ensure gages are calibrated before their due date that all records are kept appropriately, and that an investigation is launched if a tool is found out of calibration;
Supervise the destructive testing laboratory: review and approve test report, manage qualifications of lab technicians, and manage the budget;
Manage the Archiving process: ensure compliance to archiving and record control procedures;
Mange the Document Control process: ensure compliance of new and updated procedures and forms to the process
Lead and participate in FMEA, DoE, MSA, and 8D activities
Maintain assigned QMS systems (e.g., calibration, audits, document control, CAPA) for assigned products and processes
The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in an appropriate science, engineering/engineering technology field or 3+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with AS9100D, ISO17025 preferred. Experience in destructive testing, mechanical testing (e.g., tensile tests), and chemical testing in a laboratory strongly preferred. Must have proficiency in leading RCCAs and understanding of SPC methodologies and statistical analysis (hypothesis testing, capability analysis, DoE, R&R, MSA). Some knowledge in Transact-SQL querying on SQL Service and experience with business intelligence tools such as Microsoft Power BI or Tableau needed. Must have proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio. Position requires strict attention to detail and excellent oral and written communication skills.
