This Department Manager position is responsible for the direction and leadership of the Transportation department within our Sioux Falls, SD office. Our design capabilities range from residential streets and townships roads to state highways. This position works with a well-established, multi-disciplinary team of roadway designers, hydraulic engineers, structural engineers, land surveyors and environmental scientists to deliver transportation-focused projects. Specific areas of responsibility include coaching, development, and retention of staff; assigning work and reviewing performance to ensure efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff; business development securing workload; maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring high quality of work on all projects. This role will be vital in identifying and achieving short-term and long-term goals for the department and demonstrating creativity, foresight, and judgment in anticipating and solving challenges.
