Who We Are:

Born and bred in New York City, LeagueApps is the operating system and community for youth and local sports leaders—providing them with the technology and professional network they need to succeed. A fast-growing, venture-backed company, we power thousands of clubs, tournaments, leagues, camps, and facilities with a platform that reaches more than 10 million participants nationwide. 

We’re committed to our mission—creating amazing sports experiences for all. Through our FundPlay program, we donate a percentage of every dollar spent on our platform back to the communities and families that need it. Our goal is to impact 500,000 underserved athletes by 2022. Beyond FundPlay, we advocate for accessibility and equity through PLAYS, a movement we helped launch and lead to mobilize the industry  in spring 2020, and by creating awareness around the systemic issues that keep kids on the bench. What You'll Do:

• Execute, and evangelize software architecture improvements that support key business and technical goals

• Share your experience and knowledge by mentoring other engineers
• Partner with Software Engineers, Platform Engineers,  UX/UI Designers, Quality Engineers, Product Owners/Analysts to deliver high-performing quality customer experiences that are engaging, purposeful and powerful in their simplicity
• Advocate for new technologies and practices to improve our platform and supercharge the development process

• Building out our native Android solutions that deliver on Product Strategy. You will promote and adhere to established engineering best practices, design guidelines and principles
• Actively participate in all team agile ceremonies, contributing to ensure that all team commitments are delivered on time and are of the highest quality
• Remain an active learner in all technologies related to mobile development (Kotlin, 3rd party libraries, etc.)
• Influence and contribute to group discussions and incorporate feedback/communication from the broader team, (Android, iOS, APIs, Web, etc.)
• Identify technical obstacles early and work closely with the team to find creative solutions
• Review pull requests and ensure adherence to Kotlin and other language idioms

Who You Are:

• At least 6 years of experience in software engineering
• At least 4 years of experience building Android applications
• At least 3 years of experience with Kotlin
• You write clean, testable code with an eye towards maintainability
• You’re smart, humble, and enjoy learning as much as teaching
• Bachelors Degree preferred
