The successful candidate will be valued leader in the Public Works team, supporting the Public Works Director, and responsible for providing effective direction, control, and management of engineering functions related to utilities and infrastructure engineering, transportation engineering, construction management, and development review. Stayton, Oregon (population 8,265) is located in Marion County and serves as a hub for many Santiam Canyon communities. Just south of Silver Falls State Park, the largest state park in Oregon, it offers easy access to both the Western Cascades and the Oregon coast, providing an abundance of outdoor recreation including fishing, camping, hiking, and skiing.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
The City Engineer position requires a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field, a Professional Engineer (PE) license, and at least 5 years’ experience in civil engineering and municipal infrastructure including experience senior supervising experience on engineering or project team. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
The City prefers a candidate with experience in public sector engineering, capital project management, and regulatory compliance. A strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, design standards, and construction practices; as well as proficiency in project management and engineering software are helpful.
Compensation is $88,535 to $115,519 (DOQ) annually with excellent benefits.
